SAIL Stem & Innovation Hub, Ikorodu

The SAIL Tech hub is a fusion of tradition and Innovation. The client’s old country home was distinct vernacular African architecture was remodelled into a modern community tech hub.

Three (3) residential bungalows and a storey building with a central courtyard were transformed into a modern and aesthetic space where learning, collaboration, and interaction can be done in a cozy userfriendly environment. The SAIL building houses a Computer laboratory, STEM lab, training room, meeting rooms, games room, co-working space, admin offices, and conference room which are adequately linked to each other by large walkways and pause areas surrounded by lush green landscaping. Other ancillary facilities like a cafeteria, outdoor sitting, server room, security room, generator room, and toilets have also been provided.

The project which was designed with sustainability in mind uses primary electricity from its solar panels with backup generators for downtimes. Landscaping and incorporation of building elements like brise-soleil, screens, windows, and lobbies also ensure passive cooling in and around the facility.
